PHOENIX TIRED OF MAKE-UP SESSIONS

JOAQUIN PHOENIX turned his back on acting when he started having nightmares about make-up chair sessions.
The Walk The Line star, who has quit acting to concentrate on a rap music career, admits he still has the greatest respect for his peers - but he could no longer read a script without thinking about the hours he'd have to spend looking like the characters he was slated to play.
Phoenix tells WENN, "It wasn’t like dissatisfaction with the industry. I still think that movies are amazing and I respect actors. It’s just, for me personally, I wasn’t growing anymore. The mystery was completely lost for me.
"I used to read scripts and had this overwhelming desire to experience it and see it come to life. Most recently, when I read scripts, all I could think about was somebody putting make-up on my f**king face and touching me.
"I still see movies and I get affected by performances and think, 'Man, that motherf**ker went through some s**t’ and I know that you have to do to get these scenes. But then you’re digging around the craft service table wondering if there’s pretzels with peanut butter in them."
