PHILLIPS WINS TOP HONOUR AT OLDIE AWARDS

Veteran actor LESLIE PHILLIPS was honoured as Trouper Of The Year by British magazine The Oldie at a ceremony in London last night (13MAR07). The 82-year-old was presented with the prize by his VENUS co-star PETER O'TOOLE, himself a previous winner of the accolade at The Oldie Of The Year Awards. Phillips says, "My idea of a trouper is a good sport, but rather in a military fashion. I have spent my whole life in the artistic world. I suppose you've got to be a bit of a trouper to do that." Phillips has starred in over 100 films in a career spanning 70 years.
