PHILLIPS ORDERED INTO DRUG DIVERSION PROGRAMME
Actress MACKENZIE PHILLIPS has been ordered into a drug diversion programme by a Los Angeles judge after pleading guilty to a felony drug charge stemming from her August (08) arrest.
Phillips, 48, was detained by police at Los Angeles' LAX airport after security found her in possession of heroin and cocaine during a routine screening there on 27 August (08).
The actress' guilty plea will reportedly be dismissed after she completes the court-ordered programme, erasing the incident from her record.
Phillips entered rehab in September (08), following the charges.
Addressing the court at Friday's (31Oct08) hearing, she said: "I want to thank the Los Angeles Police Department and the Airport Police for stopping me - they saved my life."
Additional charges against Phillips, reportedly including another felony count of possession of a controlled substance, and one misdemeanour count of unauthorised possession of a needle or syringe, have been dismissed.
