PHILLIPS FIRST SENIOR ROYAL ON NEW YEAR'S HONOURS LIST
ZARA PHILLIPS is to become the first senior British royal to receive an award in QUEEN ELIZABETH II's new year's (07) honours list.
The horsewoman, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, was nominated for the honour by the UK's sporting honours sub-committee.
Phillips won gold at the World Equestrian Games in August (06) and was named BBC Sports Personality Of The Year earlier this month (DEC06).
