PHILADELPHIA RADIO STATION PLANS BIG BRUCE BIRTHDAY BASH

A radio station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is dedicating it's Wednesday (23Sep09) broadcasts to all things BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN in honour of The Boss' 60th birthday.
National Public Radio network WXPN is planning a day-long tribute to the rocker, featuring live performances from cover bands, a marathon session of Springsteen hits and an evening celebration of his music.
WXPN presenters have also called on local musicians to submit covers of The Boss' songs, which will be available for streaming on the station's website for the next month.
Only Springsteen music will be played on air from 10am to 2pm and the station will host a live concert broadcast from Philadelphia's World Cafe Live, dubbed The Boss' Birthday Bash.
Several local artists will come together as the Phill-E Street Band to play Springsteen's Born to Run album in its entirety.
