PHARRELL'S LEAKY PENTHOUSE AT CENTRE OF LEGAL DISPUTE
Rapper/producer PHARRELL WILLIAMS has found himself caught up in a legal dispute relating to water leaks from his $14 million (£9.3 million) penthouse apartment in Miami, Florida.
The Neptunes beatmaker purchased the luxury condo in 2007 from property developer Ugo Colombo.
At the time of the sale, Williams was made aware of an ongoing lawsuit filed against Colombo by another resident in the Bristol Towers complex, Hector Lopez, who claims his home has been made uninhabitable for the last two years from water damage as a result of leaks from the penthouse suite.
The hip-hop star claims Colombo promised to deal with and cover any legal costs stemming from the complaint, but in court documents, Lopez named both Colombo and Williams as defendants, alongside officials for the condo association.
The association recently settled the dispute with Lopez for $525,000 (£350,000), but now they are seeking to recoup the money from Colombo and Williams, reports AllHipHop.com.
Williams' attorney, Karl Sturge, claims the leaks - which are coming from areas including the swimming pool and jacuzzi - are expected to be resolved by the end of the year.
He says, "We're hoping they get fixed in the next six months."
Colombo, who argues the matter is the association's responsibility, has yet to respond to the reports.
