PHARMACIST 'WARNED SMITH'S DOCTOR ABOUT MEDICATION'

A pharmacist allegedly warned ANNA NICOLE SMITH's psychiatrist against prescribing the star a powerful sleeping medication just months before her tragic death from a drug overdose.
Smith passed away in a California hotel room in February 2007, with an autopsy ruling her death was caused by an accidental overdose of sleeping remedy chloral hydrate, as well as various other prescription medications.
The late star's longtime companion Howard K. Stern is being investigated on charges of conspiracy to supply Smith with drugs, along with Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and her psychiatrist Dr. Khristina Eroshevich.
A preliminary hearing in Los Angeles heard testimony on Tuesday (20Oct09) from pharmacist Steve Mazlin, who alleged he had urged Eroshevich not to give Smith chloral hydrate in late 2006.
He told the court, "I said, 'Unless you want your picture on the cover of the National Enquirer, I wouldn't give (Smith chloral hydrate) because it's a powerful respiratory depressant.'"
Mazlin claims Eroshevich went ahead and purchased chloral hydrate and also asked for a rapidly acting anti-anxiety medication.
Stern, Eroshevich and Kapoor have all pleaded not guilty to any wrongdoing. The case continues.
