PETTY REFORMS MUDCRUTCH FOR NEW ALBUM
Veteran rocker TOM PETTY has finished recording a reunion album with his pre-fame band MUDCRUTCH. Petty disbanded the group, who only released a few singles, in the mid-1970s to form Tom Petty + The Heartbreakers with former Mudcrutch stars Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench. The star is ecstatic with the sound of the new album, which is due for release in 2008. He says, "I just finished a record with Mudcrutch, my old band before the Heartbreakers. I am over the moon about it. I couldn't have hoped for it to be as good as it came out."
