PERRY'S NATIVE AMERICAN JIBE UPSETS BENEFIT CROWD

LAW + ORDER creator DICK WOLF refused to shake MATTHEW PERRY's hand at a benefit on Saturday (13Oct07), after the former FRIENDS star made an offensive joke about Native Americans. Perry was hosting The Lili Claire Foundation fundraiser in Los Angeles when he revealed he once attended an event honouring Native Americans, joking organisers weren't able to find a famous Indian host. Flags of Our Fathers star Adam Beach, a member of the Salteaux Indian tribe, looked visibly upset and when he later shared the stage with his pal Wolf, the TV mogul told the audience, "I don't know where Matt is, but here is your American Indian."
