PERRY SLAMS MEDIA FOR 'DISSECTING' ON-STAGE COMMENTS

Pop sensation KATY PERRY has urged the media to stop creating stories out of her on-stage banter - insisting comments she makes while performing shouldn't be analysed.
The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker seemingly addressed her recent split from Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis MCCoy while playing a set at Los Angeles' Hotel Cafe on Monday (12Jan09) night - hinting it was MCCoy who pushed her away.
She told the crowd, "It hurts right now. When you break up with someone you move on. You don't really want to move on... but you have to because they don't give you any choice. But I'm over it!"
But, following a frenzy of stories surrounding the comments, Perry has slammed reporters for constantly "dissecting" her words - claiming she doesn't pass comment on private matters.
She writes on her official blog, "I don't give statements about my personal life. The stories read about the things I say introducing some of my songs are merely to explain the forthcoming song.
"I enjoy being myself on stage and that's what you expect of me. I have made many of the same introductions before... just lately everyone's dissecting my every word. Understandable.
"When I wanna share something with the world, the world will know... Otherwise, stop looking for a story, or an explanation."
