PERRY JOINS DIVERS FOR COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP

AEROSMITH rocker JOE PERRY performed a little voluntary community service on Saturday (11Jul09) when he spent the day picking up trash from the waters near his home in Florida.
The guitarist and his wife Billie found themselves with time to kill after Aerosmith cancelled a concert in Tampa to allow frontman Steven Tyler to recover from a leg injury - and they decided to help clean up the neighbourhood's waterways.
The Perrys donned diving gear and joined 80 other conservationists in the day-long trash trawl.
The rocker admits he was looking for something worthwhile to do on his day off and read an article about the dive in a local publication.
He admits he can't believe what rubbish he found dumped in the waters: "There's everything from a big chunk of fibreglass to 20 feet of rope on an anchor... You can't just throw stuff off the side of the boat."
