PERRY FARRELL 'WELCOMES GLASTO COMPETITION'
Lollapalooza organiser Perry Farrell has said he would welcome competition from Glastonbury should he choose to bring his festival overseas.
After starting out as a festival which toured the US, the event currently stays in Chicago but Farrell is in negotiations to bring the festival to a wider audience.
The former JANE'S ADDICTION frontman told NME: "Over there (in England) they have Glastonbury - it's actually older than Lollapalooza. I love the competition. I love the idea that OK, you've got Glastonbury, let's see what we can do to make our Lollapalooza fantastic.
"I'm in negotiations right now with a few other locations, some of them overseas, and we'll see how it goes."
He added he sees Lollapalooza as an "incredible party machine" and that he is keen to spread the party abroad.
This year's Lollapalooza takes place on August 1st 3rd and will feature performances from RADIOHEAD, NINE INCH NAILS and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE.
