Pepsi Takes The Who's My Generation Through The 20Th Century
THE WHO's classic track MY GENERATION has become the new anthem for drinks giant Pepsi's latest ad campaign.
In the clever new commercial, Pete Townshend's angry '60s hit is transformed from a turn-of-the century piano number into a 1920s dinner party tune, to a song from the end of World War Two in the 1940s and a rock 'n' roll track from the 1950s, before Roger Daltrey starts belting out the original to accompany footage of a streaker at a 1960s hippie demonstration.
The tune then changes again to match a 1970s disco scene, the birth of hip-hop in the 1980s and the collapse of the Berlin Wall in Germany in the 1990s.
