PENATE ACCUSED OF CLUB GRAFFITI

Singer/songwriter JACK PENATE has been forced to hand over GBP200 ($400) to a Scottish nightclub after scrawling his logo over its interior furnishings. Staff at Glasgow's Sub Club discovered the British star's graffiti on mirrors, walls, speakers, bar tops and even the floor when he was visiting on Sunday (08Jul07), according to The Daily Record newspaper. A staff member says, "He had marker pens in his pocket and ink all over his hands, so he was hauled into the office and the police were called." Penate denied responsibility and police dropped charges due to lack of witnesses. However, after returning to the club later that night to reclaim a mobile phone he had left behind, the singer gave staff GBP200 ($400), allegedly to cover cleaning costs.
