PELOSI BLOCKS JACKSON LEGEND RESOLUTION

America's Speaker of The House, NANCY PELOSI, has blocked plans to honour MICHAEL JACKSON as an official American legend.
Texas congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee announced at the King of Pop's memorial on Tuesday (07Jul09) that Resolution 600 would be presented to politicians this week (ends10Jul09).
Representing Congress and the Congressional Black Caucus at the Los Angeles tribute, Lee told the cheering masses at the Staples Center the motion claimed Jackson "as an American Legend and musical icon, a world humanitarian (and) someone who will be honoured forever and forever and forever and forever and forever."
She then revealed the framed resolution.
But politician Pelosi has rejected the proposal, stating such a resolution "will open up two contrary views that are not necessary at this time to be expressed".
Pelosi has called on Lee and other politicians to concentrate on more pressing matters.
