PEART, SMITH & SHEILA E LAND TOP DRUMMIES

RUSH star NEIL PEART and SHEILA E have been declared the world's top percussionists at the annual Drummies Awards.
Peart claimed his third consecutive victory as Drummer Of The Year, beating out Blink-182's Travis Barker, who was named Best Punk Drummer. The Rush star also picked up the Best Progressive Drummer prize, while Prince's former bandmate Sheila E took home the Percussionist of The Year honour.
Red Hot Chili Peppers and Chickenfoot star Chad Smith was another two-prize winner, picking up awards for Best Funk Drummer and Best Alternative Rock Drummer.
Metallica star Lars Ulrich was named Best Metal Drummer.
