PAVAROTTI'S DAUGHTERS TO CONTEST WILL

Late Italian opera star LUCIANO PAVAROTTI's three daughters are preparing to contest his will, after it emerged he left his entire estimated $21 million (GBP10.5 million) American estate to his second wife. Daughters Lorenza, Cristina and Giuliana were stunned to discover their father had left two wills. The first, dealing with a $500 million (GBP250 million) fortune, was split between his wife Nicoletta Mantovani, 37, who received 50 per cent, and his three daughters who split 25 per cent. A second will covering his American assets emerged on Monday (17Sep07) - including three New York apartments, bank accounts, paintings and furniture - established a trust in Mantovani's sole name. A lawyer representing the singer's daughters says, "We shall be looking into how this trust was arranged and how it was drawn up." Pavarotti lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 71 last Friday (06Sep07).
