Cameron Diaz was dumped by British model Paul Sculfor because he prefers to be on his own.

Paul Sculfor dumped Cameron Diaz because he didn't want to be "tied down".

The British builder-turned-model - who split from the 36-year-old beauty in May after a year-long relationship - insists it was his decision to end their romance because he enjoys single life too much.

He told Britain's More magazine: "I love being single. It was my choice to be single. It's great to be on my own - you don't want to be tied down, do you?"

Last month, Paul, 37, moved out of the 'My Sister's Keeper' star's Los Angeles home because they struggled to find time to see each other.

The hunk - who is embarking on an acting career - revealed he is enjoying his newfound freedom.

He said: "I like being able to travel to London and read a script for a film I'm about to be in. It's great to spend time at home."

For the time being, Paul - who has been linked to a string of celebrity beauties, including Jennifer Aniston and Jo Wood - is not on the search for another famous lover.

He added: "I like being single, and I don't want it any other way right now."
