PAUL MCCARTNEY 'TO VOICE SHREK FILM'

Paul McCartney will reportedly lend his vocal talents to Shrek 4, due for a 2010 release.

The former Beatle would join Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas for the animated ogre franchise, according to reports.

The Sun newspaper quoted a source as saying: "The Shrek films have a proud tradition of getting great names and Macca is the best yet."

Sir Paul recently received an Ultimate Legend award from the MTV Europe Music Awards, which were held in Liverpool last week.

U2's lead singer Bono flew to Liverpool to present the award and reportedly received a personal guided tour around the city from Sir Paul himself.
