PARTON SURPRISES GIRL SCOUTS

Country singer DOLLY PARTON gave a group of girl scouts in Tennessee a present they will never forget - by making a surprise appearance at their badge-giving ceremony.
The legendary star has seen the organisation's Coat of Many Colors patch named in her honour, after her 1971 song of the same name.
And Parton was determined to thank the troupe - so she turned up at the Tennessee Girl Scouts meeting at the Pines Theatre in Pigeon Forge on Saturday (13Jun09) in front of 400 delighted girls to hand out the badges herself.
Parton, an honorary member of the Girl Scouts, wore her own uniform and was happy to hug and chat to the girls as she presented them with their prizes.
She told the assembled crowd, "A person can make money, but money can't make a person."
The Parton patch requires Scouts to help others and then design a collage based on what makes them special.
