PARKER POLICE CHIEF PUT ON LEAVE
A police chief accused of breaking into the home of SARAH JESSICA PARKER's surrogate has been placed on leave until the case is resolved.
Chad Dojack and a second Ohio police chief, Barry Carpenter, were arrested on Wednesday (29Jul09) amid the ongoing investigation over an alleged tabloid scam to dig up dirt on the woman who carried Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick's twins.
Carpenter was charged with two counts of burglary, receiving stolen property, theft in office, tampering with evidence, and unauthorised use of property or services. Dojack was booked on two counts of complicity to burglary and one of complicity to receiving stolen property.
If convicted, Carpenter could be jailed for 21 years, while Dojack could be sentenced to 14 years. They both pleaded not guilty to the string of burglary charges at an Ohio court on Thursday (30Jul09).
Dojack will now remain on paid leave from his job until the investigation comes to a close.
A third man, identified as Bruce Callarik, was also arrested in connection with the case - he is facing one allegation of complicity to receiving stolen property.
