PARIS TO "DATE" AUSTRIAN BUSINESSMAN

Paris Hilton is to be the date of a wealthy Austrian businessman.

Richard Lugner, 74, has told a news conference that he has chosen the Hilton heiress to be his guest at the Vienna Opera Ball this year. The wealthy entrepreneur is known for inviting A-list celebrities to be his guest at the high society ball.

Paris Hilton has accepted the invitation.

Pamela Anderson, Sophia Loren, Geri Helliwell, Grace Jones and Sarah Ferguson have all been Lugner's "dates" at the ball over previous years.

Hilton, who is well known for her love of parties, will be allowed to bring three friends, and her parents to the ball. It is not known whether she will be bringing pal Britney Paris to the exclusive event.

The socialite will have to be on her best behaviour for the ball, as she will be in the presence of some of the Austria's most notable politicians and celebrities. She will also have to dance the waltz with Lugner at the event, which will be broadcast on TV live.

"She will dance with me," Lugnar said. "If a man is a good leader on the dance floor, a woman is capable of everything."
