PARFITT: 'WE NEARLY LOST UNBORN TWINS'
STATUS QUO rocker RICK PARFITT and his wife LYNDSAY feared a miscarriage just one week after discovering they were expecting twins. The couple were overjoyed when they discovered they were expecting last October (07) after undergoing IVF treatment - but just a week later Lyndsay was taken to hospital suffering from a suspected miscarriage. Parfitt says, "Talk about one extreme of emotion to another. We went back to the clinic terrified that this most precious of gifts was being snatched away from us. "But the doctor pointed to the screen and there they were - two little heartbeats as strong as ever. "He put up the volume full blast so we could hear them - a beautiful rich thud thud sound. We just clung to each other with relief. I told Lynds it was as if the heartbeats were in time to a Quo shuffle." The guitarist, 59, already has two sons, Harry, 18, and Richard, 29, from previous marriages. The couple married in a secret ceremony in Gibraltar in August 2006.
