PARANOIA LED TO FARINA GUN INCIDENT
LATEST: Cop-turned-actor DENNIS FARINA carries a gun everywhere he goes, because he fears a criminal he has sent to jail will seek revenge.
Farina was apprehended at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday morning (11May08) after a loaded gun was found in his briefcase.
The Saving Private Ryan star has issued an apology following his arrest for felony weapons charges, but, according to friends of the 64-year-old actor, he always carries a 'piece' to prepare for unsuspecting assailants out to get him.
A source tells The National Enquirer Farina justifies, "There's a lot of bad guys from the old days that I put in prison - but they keep getting out."
Farina was charged with carrying a concealed weapon following the discovery of the .22 caliber, semi-automatic pistol.
The former Chicago, Illinois police officer was released on Sunday night (11May08) after posting $35,000 (GBP17,500) bail.

I can understand Mr. Farina's concern....some people blame others for their
mistakes and think they are the bad guy, not them...I met Dennis 3 years ago
on the set of "The Grand" here in Las Vegas and he is a very nice man...He
plays a mean game of poker...he is very down to earth and I enjoyed playing
poker with him....He is just watching out for himself, as far as carrying a gun
for protection...He is a great actor and I have enjoyed watching him on TV and
in movies, such as "The Disappearance of Nora." GREAT GUY!!!
