PAPOOSE HOPEFUL OF EARLY REMY MA RELEASE

Rapper REMY MA is set to walk free from New York's notorious Riker's Island prison early if a new appeal to set her free goes to plan.
The female hip-hop star, real name Reminisce Smith, was jailed in May 2008 after she was found guilty on charges of assault, weapons possession and attempted coercion for shooting Makeda Barnes Joseph in the abdomen during a fracas in July 2007.
Remy Ma has maintained her innocence throughout the ordeal, hiring top lawyers William Murphy, Jr., Kenneth Ravenell and Richard Levitto to appeal the ruling.
And her husband, rapper Papoose, insists the case is looking positive and he hopes Remy Ma will walk free from jail sooner rather than later.
He says, "She's got some of the best lawyers working on it (appeal), and it's looking good right now."
The couple wed last year (08), shortly after Remy Ma was convicted.
