PANTOLIANO'S DEPRESSION 'EUPHORIA'
JOE PANTOLIANO experienced "euphoria" after doctors diagnosed him with clinical depression - because he could finally understand his feelings of despair.
The former Sopranos star, 57, was relieved when his doctor pronounced he was depressed - because it explained why he felt so miserable, despite having the success he'd always dreamt of.
And since then the actor, who manages his depression with medication, has helped launch an organisation called No Kidding, Me Too! which aims to remove the stigma attached to mental illness.
He says, "Mental disease is the only thing you can be diagnosed with and get yelled at for having. Why is that?
"From the moment I was diagnosed there was a certain sense of euphoria and 'Thank God' we figured this out - because I thought that I'd become such a curmudgeon."
