Hollywood actress GWYNETH PALTROW has scooped a six-figure pay cheque after signing on as the spokesperson for American Express credit cards.
The Shakespeare In Love star, who is married to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, will feature in a series of new advertisements to promote the financial firm - adding to her portfolio as the face of cosmetics giant Estee Lauder and fashion house Tod's.
The exact sum of money Paltrow will receive for the promotion has not been disclosed - but the figure was so substantial the star just couldn't refuse.
A close pal says, "She decided to do the commercials because it was quite simply such a huge amount of money.
"She seems to be spreading her wings and wanting to do many more things than just acting."
