"PAINFUL HONOUR" FOR FARRELL TO FILL IN FOR HEATH LEDGER
Colin Farrell has said it is a "painful honour" to be chosen to finish off a film Heath Ledger began before his unexpected death last month.
Farrell has been approached to finish the filming of Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus in a role Ledger had been halfway through shooting before dying of an accidental overdose.
"I will be honoured to take the part," Farrell told the Australian Daily Telegraph.
"It makes me feel uncomfortable to think about it too much and to get into it really here but it's an incredibly painful honour to have, you know, and an honour I wish wasn't bestowed but an honour nonetheless.
"It's about getting Heath's work out there, get his work out there, he's too good for any of his work not to be seen, you know, and I'm really keen and looking forward to doing it and just doing the best job I can do," the Irish star said.
Farrell admitted he had yet to start any shooting on the film and was still unclear on what his role would be in completing the character.
The film is about a travelling theatre which lets its audiences pass through a mirror into other dimensions.
Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits and Lily Cole also star in the movie, while Johnny Depp and Jude Law are also rumoured to be helping Farrell complete Ledger's role.
