OWEN WILSON HOSPITALISED
Hollywood actor Owen Wilson has asked the public to respect his privacy after being admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles for undisclosed reasons.
A spokeswoman for the Cedars-Sinai medical centre, Cynthia Harding, said that the 38-year-old actor was "in good condition" but did not reveal why he had been hospitalised.
The Starsky and Hutch star said that he needed time to "heal in private".
"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time," a statement from Wilson said.
Santa Monica police said they had attended to an emergency call from a house on the street in which the actor lives.
Media reports claim that Wilson had to be hospitalised after an apparent suicide attempt.
The actor, who starred alongside Jackie Chan in Shanghai Noon, is currently filming the comedy Tropical Thunder. The film is being directed by his partner from Starsky and Hutch, Ben Stiller.
Wilson was nominated for an Oscar in 2002, when he competed in the best screenplay category for his work on The Royal Tenebaums.

I hope Owen gets better & can be left alone by the media in his time needed to
heal. My thoughts & prayers are with you, Owen & the Wilson family. When I
first heard I was devistated, like one of my own family members had been
hospitalized. I hope you can get the help you need to make a full recovery.
Just remember this there are alot of people in this world who love you, even if
we dont know you personally. Take Care and get better would love to see you
make more movies. When I'm down & depressed I always put on one of your movies,
it makes me laugh & forget what I was depressed about.
