OSMOND GAINS CONFIDENCE WITH NUDE TANNING TRIPS

Veteran entertainer MARIE OSMOND had to strip off and be spray-tanned in the nude before she learned to embrace her ageing body.
The 49-year-old singer was asked by TV producers to darken her complexion before she began her stint on U.S. reality show Dancing with the Stars last year (08).
In her new memoir Might As Well Laugh About It Now, the mother-of-eight admits she was initially shocked by the idea.
She writes, "The assistant... said, 'Strip! Completely naked'... 'Where's the tanning booth?' I asked. 'No booth... Just me and this.' She held up a can the size of a fire extinguisher sporting a hose with a gun-shaped nozzle."
But it only took a few weeks before Osmond began to enjoy the sessions.
She adds, "By week 10, it seemed as casual as taking your car into a drive-through car wash."
