ORTIZ JOINS FIGHT AGAINST NEW YORK CITY DEVELOPERS

UGLY BETTY actress ANA ORTIZ has joined a growing list of celebrities battling a real-estate developer's plan to build a 17-storey apartment building next to New York City's famed Brooklyn Bridge.
Ortiz and fellow actors Gabriel Byrne, Helen Hunt and Gary Sinise have publicly voiced their opposition to Two Tree Management's Dock Street plan in Brooklyn's DUMBO - an area on the edge of the water with views of the Manhattan skyline.
And Brooklyn-born Ortiz, a DUMBO resident, is furious the development will block views of the landmark bridge and the city she loves.
She tells the New York Post, "Little by little, we watch as what is wonderful and unique about the city is paved over and homogenised."
