ONO WINS VIDEO FOOTAGE LAWSUIT

JOHN LENNON's widow YOKO ONO has won her legal battle against a group of collectors who disputed her rights to movie footage containing intimate moments of the late BEATLES star.
World Wide Video filed a lawsuit against Ono last year (08) for blocking a screening of two-hour documentary 3 Days in the Life, which used rare footage showing Lennon composing songs and joking around with friends.
The company had planned to show the film, billed as "a most intimate and no-holds-barred" look at Lennon's private life with his family and friends, in 2007 - but were prevented after Ono filed a suit.
Executive producer of the documentary Ray Thomas claimed the company had bought the rights to the footage from Ono's previous husband, Anthony Cox, in 1970.
But last week (begs22Jun09), a Boston, Massachusetts court ruled in favour of Ono - and named her the rightful copyright holder, according to her lawyer Jonathan Albano.
He adds, "Our client is very happy in winning the case."
