ONO: 'LENNON SHOT CARRYING WALKING ON THIN ICE DEMO'

Of all the songs YOKO ONO has written over the course of her career, she is most proud of WALKING ON THIN ICE - because her late husband JOHN LENNON was carrying a demo of it in his pocket when he was murdered. Ex-BEATLE Lennon repeatedly listened to Walking On Thin Ice in the days leading up to his assassination by MARK DAVID CHAPMAN in New York City in December 1980. Ono says, "We were totally excited by Walking On Thin Ice and John was listening to it over and over again that weekend. "John was carrying the cassette when he passed away. It was the last thing we did note-by-note together."
