OMAR'S ANTI-SUICIDE MESSAGE

Puerto Rican reggaeton star DON OMAR is using his new single to raise awareness of rising suicide rates in Latin America. Omar decided the video for Adios will cover the issue, after learning the shocking truth that a Latin American kills themselves every 40 seconds. Omar says, "It brings me great pain and a lot of sadness to know that every 40 seconds a Latin American takes his or her own life, as the statistics say. "It's not possible what's happening to our kids, from seven to fourteen years old. But the suicide data is incredible, and Colombia has the most, Honduras is second, Puerto Rico is third, and Mexico is fifth. "With the position I'm in, where a lot of people listen to me, I want to send a message; that's why we made this video, which is starting to get played on major music television channels. It deals with the subject of how terrible it is to decide that 'I don't want to be here anymore'."
