OKEREKE'S 'INBRED' JIBE AT GALLAGHERS

BLOC PARTY frontman KELE OKEREKE branded NOEL and LIAM GALLAGHER "inbred twins" just minutes after the pair's bust-up at a festival in France.
The Helicopter hitmakers were onstage at Rock en Seine on Friday (28Aug09) when news filtered through that Oasis would not be playing their headline slot after guitarist Noel quit the band.
Okereke broke the bad news to the crowd - and then had a sly dig at the warring brothers.
Film footage of Bloc Party's set has emerged online, and Okereke can clearly be heard referring to the Gallaghers as "inbred twins".
He tells the audience, "Oasis have cancelled. So I'd like to take this moment to say, 'That's a shame, isn't it guys?'
"So I guess by default, we are headlining... I'd like to dedicate this next song to anyone who really wanted to see those inbred twins."
Liam Gallagher sparked a long-running feud with Bloc Party in 2005 when he described the band as looking like "students on University Challenge" - a reference to the brainbox U.K. TV quiz show.
