O'CONNOR: 'PRESS INTRUSION RUINS STARS' LIVES'
Pop star-turned-priest SINEAD O'CONNOR has hit out at the media for hounding celebrities until they go "crazy". At the height of her fame the Irish singer made headlines because of her outspokenness and provocative behaviour, and she insists she can empathise with the plight of Britney Spears - whose every move is watched by a pack of paparazzi photographers. She says, "I feel very sorry for Britney Spears - she can't go down the street without people surrounding her. "She's entitled to make records and make a living and live in her home, without having to be driven crazy. It's all a whole lot of s**t that's a new phenomenon, the whole paparazzi thing."
