OCEAN'S THIRTEEN STARS TEAM UP TO LAUNCH DARFUR CHARITY
The stars of OCEAN'S THIRTEEN are hoping to aid relief efforts in war-torn Darfur by hosting a Cannes Film Festival party to benefit a new charity.
George Clooney, who plays the sequel's main character, Danny Ocean, visited the area with his father Nick last year (06) to make a documentary about struggling refugees in the area. He has since become a leading celebrity advocate for prompting an international intervention.
Co-star Brad Pitt is also a leading advocate for African charities attempting to end poverty on the continent.
The pair will host a party to launch new organisation Not On Our Watch on 22 May (07), two days before Ocean's Thirteen has its world premiere at the French film festival.
The film's producer, Jerry Weintraub, will then host a series of other benefits when the movie premieres in Las Vegas, where it is set, and Chicago, Illinois.
