OBI-WAN'S LOST CLOAK STUNS AT AUCTION

STAR WARS sage OBI-WAN KENOBI's famous cloak has gone under the hammer for $104,000 (GBP53,300) at a movie memorabilia auction. An anonymous fan snapped up the famous hooded garment, which had been tossed into a prop warehouse and forgotten, at the Bonhams sale in London yesterday (06MAR07). The cloak was worn by SIR ALEC GUINNESS when he played Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars, EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI. Other highlights of the Bonhams auction included the fur-lined dressing gown MADONNA wore as EVA PERON in EVITA, which was purchased by a collector for $5,200 (GBP2,670). Other items that went under the hammer included MEL GIBSON's BRAVEHEART kilt and SIR SEAN CONNERY's JAMES BOND dinner jacket from 1965 movie THUNDERBALL, which sold for $64,700 (GBP33,200).
