Singer/songwriter CONOR OBERST has entered into a bizarre pact with an aged pal - to break him out of hospital if he falls ill and allow him to die in the desert.
The Bright Eyes star reveals all about his plans to 'kidnap' his elderly friend in new tune I Don't Want To Die (In The Hospital), admitting he's committed to doing what's necessary to make sure his companion's last wishes are honoured.
He says, "This guy didn't mind the idea of dying, but he just didn't want to die in such an undignified place (as a hospital). He wanted to be out in the desert, under the stars.
"He told me if he was ever in a hospital that I should break him out. (I Don't Want To Die) is a jailbreak song."
