OASIS OUTED BY SINGING PRODUCER
LATEST: OASIS may have grabbed the top spot for the world's greatest song under false pretences - because the chorus had to be sung by the producer when the GALLAGHER brothers failed to be up to the job. The rockers' hit LIVE FOREVER, from their 1994 debut album DEFINITELY MAYBE, was voted the best track of all time by readers of British music magazine Q last month (AUG06). But the main refrain had to be sung by producer OWEN MORRIS and the band's manager, when it transpired that NOEL and LIAM simply couldn't reach the notes. He says, "Liam couldn't hit the high notes in the chorus. "Noel wasn't the greatest singer back then, and so the line, 'You and me are gonna live forever' was actually sung by me and MARCUS RUSSELL, the band's manager."
