OASIS' ARCHER URGES JAY-Z TO 'GROW UP'
OASIS bassist GEM ARCHER has waded into the war of words between his bandmate NOEL GALLAGHER and rap superstar JAY-Z - stating the hip-hop titan should "grow up".
Gallagher hit the headlines earlier this year (08) when he blasted the organisers of the U.K.'s Glastonbury festival for booking a hip-hop act to play the traditionally rock n' roll festival.
And the 99 Problems hitmaker retaliated by mocking the rocker in his a track entitled Jockin' Jay-Z.
In the tune, he sings, "That bloke from Oasis said I couldn't play guitar/ Someone shoulda told him I'm a muthaf**ker rock star/ Today is gonna be the day that I'm gonna throw it back to you/ I'm living life as a rocker . . . "
But Archer isn't impressed by the rapper's style - comparing his behaviour to a schoolgirls.
He says, "It's like eight-year-old girls in the schoolyard, running off and writing ditties like that. Grow up!
"But rappers love a ruck. It's what they do. They set out to have a fight and it's there in their lyrics. They love biffo (aggression)."
