OASIS AND TAKE THAT NOT WANTED AT MANCHESTER STADIUM

British bands OASIS and TAKE THAT were forced to scrap plans to play stadium gigs in their native Manchester, England - because the Arab owners of the city's top venue don't need the extra cash.
The groups are kicking off stadium tours in June 2009, with both bands playing shows at several of the same venues just days apart from each other.
They each wanted to perform at the City of Manchester Stadium - the home ground of Manchester City Football Club - but had to move their homecoming shows elsewhere after learning the venue's new owners were not interested.
Take That frontman Gary Barlow says, "They said they don't need the money."
Soccer club Manchester City F.C. was taken over by United Arab Emirates' Abu Dhabi United Group Investment and Development Limited in September (08).
Instead, Oasis had to resort to gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park, while Take That will now play at the city's Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
