NOEL GALLAGHER ATTACKER FACING 14-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE

A man who pushed Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher at a concert in Toronto could be jailed for 14 years after his charge was upgraded.

Gallagher, 41, broke several ribs after Daniel Simpson, 47, rushed the stage at the V festival and shoved him from behind in September last year.

Sullivan was detained in police custody and initially charged with assault. But the Press Association reports his charge has now been upgraded to one count of aggravated assault.

While the maximum sentence for assault is five years, aggravated assault can carry a maximum prison term of 14 years.

Sullivan will appear in court on March 6th for a pre-trial hearing.

Noel's brother Liam, Oasis' lead singer, had to be held back as he attempted to retaliate after Sullivan's attack last year.

The incident caused Oasis to cancel several shows and promotional appearances while Gallagher recovered from his injuries.
