NO COUNTRY CLAIMS GOLD AGAIN
Acclaimed COEN BROTHERS movie NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN picked up another top film prize in Hollywood on Saturday (02Feb08) when it claimed gold at the Producers Guild of America gala. The Oscar-nominated film, starring Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones, beat fellow Academy Award hopefuls There Will Be Blood, Juno and Michael Clayton to win the award. Ethan and Joel Coen were on hand to collect the prestigious Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of The Year award. The film is a front runner to claim gold at the Oscars on 24 February (08) after picking up the Directors Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild Best Film prizes, among a string of honours. Meanwhile, another Oscar favourite, Ratatouille, was named Best Animated Film, and TV honours went to the producers of 30 Rock, The Sopranos and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Michael Moore claimed the Best Documentary honour.
