NIXON WANTED SEX ROLE TO STAY IN THE CITY

SEX AND THE CITY actress CYNTHIA NIXON overlooked the shocking content of the series when she first read the TV script - because she was desperate to remain in New York.
Nixon reluctantly considered moving to Los Angeles before the sexually charged story about four single women living in her native New York landed on her lap.
And she was determined to get the attention of casting directors so she wouldn't need to leave the Big Apple behind.
She says, "It wasn't so much that it was shocking and risque it was more like, 'Wow, there's a show about women that shoots in New York.' Everything's shot in California. I was a New Yorker, and I didn't want to relocate. So certainly how different it was grabbed my attention, but the New York part of it grabbed my attention first."
