NIRVANA'S BOWIE TUNE TOPS COVERS LIST
NIRVANA's rendition of DAVID BOWIE's THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD has topped a new list of the greatest cover tunes of all time.
The track beat out Jimi Hendrix's version of Bob Dylan's All Along The Watchtower and Talking Heads' tribute to Al Green, Take Me to the River, to top the new list, compiled by beverage firm Southern Comfort and U.S. music magazine Spin.
Also making the top 10 are The Clash's Police and Thieves, which was originally recorded by Junior Murvin, Elvis Costello's cover of Nick Lowe's (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love and Understanding, Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U as sung by Sinead O'Connor and Devo's rendition of the Rolling Stones' (Can't Get No) Satisfaction.
