NIGHY'S FRIENDSHIP WITH DIRECTOR NOT ENOUGH FOR HARRY POTTER ROLE

Actor BILL NIGHY was delighted when he found out his friend David Yates had signed up to direct the next two Harry Potter movies - because he assumed he would be given a part in the sixth outing of the fantasy film. The Pirates of the Caribbean star had worked with Yates on 2005 TV movie The Girl In The Cafe and thought he was guaranteed a role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince with his pal at the helm - but he soon discovered his friendship wasn't enough. He says, "I am the only British actor who hasn't been asked to be in Harry Potter. David Yates, who directed me in The Girl In The Cafe, just did the new one and has agreed to the one after that. I said: 'So, do you have a part for me, mate?' He just laughed, because apparently he hasn't. But you know? I don't care because I'm a pirate."
