NIGHY LOVES NEW YORK IN THE FALL

English actor BILL NIGHY has fallen in love with New York while appearing in a play on Broadway - because the Big Apple is just like a film set. The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN star was skeptical when friends boasted of the delights of Manhattan, but since his arrival to star in DAVID HARE play THE VERTICAL HOUR, he's convinced. Nighy says, "I went 'yeah, yeah', the way you do, then you come here... and it blows your mind. I stand on the street corner and laugh out loud. The policemen look like they're in a movie, the street lights make the city look like a movie set, the trees are all turning and it's fabulous."
