Nick Jonas is launching a solo career but insists it's not the end of The Jonas Brothers.

Nick Jonas is launching a solo career.

The Jonas Brothers singer has been working on his debut album - 'Nick Jonas and The Administration' - for the past six months and it will be released next year.

His mother Denise confirmed: "Nick is working on a solo act - it's called 'Nick Jonas and The Administration'. Shhh! He's at the photo shoot for the album cover right now."

However, The Jonas Brothers - made up of Nick and his siblings Joe and Kevin - insist they are not splitting and have plans to make more music together.

They wrote on their blog: "The Jonas Brothers are NOT breaking up! We are ALL excited about this project AND what we are doing TOGETHER! We plan to make music together for as long as we can. (sic)"

The trio are also planning a world tour for next year and industry insiders believe Nick branching out will benefit their future.

One said: "This project would only expand the Jonas brand. The music is amazing and really shows off Nick's vocal range."
