NICHOLS UNDER FIRE OVER WAR FOOTAGE
CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR director MIKE NICHOLS has come under fire from a retired U.S. newscaster for using footage of his war reports in the movie without permission. Ex-NBC news journalist Arthur Kent claims he should have been asked permission or at least acknowledged for his role in the film - made by NBC's parent company Universal - about a congressman's battle to help Afghanistan win its war with the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 80s. He says, "It was a pretty basic breach of copyright law - brazen even. And this from one of the corporations that's always moaning on and on about piracy."
